Thumbo Privacy Policy
Last updated: 25 October 2026
Thumbo is published by Zone Optimize LLC ("we"). This policy explains what the Thumbo Android app collects and why.
1. Reel counting and the Accessibility service
Thumbo uses Android's Accessibility service only to notice when you swipe to a new Reel or Short in Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Snapchat and Facebook, and to show your live count and the pause screen over those apps.
- It looks only at which screen is scrolling in those five apps (its name and size), and on YouTube Shorts at the channel name and title of the short on screen, to tell one short from the next.
- It does not read or store messages, posts, comments, passwords or anything you type, and it does not look at any other app.
- What it keeps is a count: which of the five apps, when, and for how long. That stays on your phone.
You choose to turn the service on in Android's settings, after Thumbo explains it, and you can turn it off there at any time.
2. What leaves your phone
| What | Why | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Battles, only if you start or join one: a random account ID, the name you type, today's reel count, and a push token | So your friend sees your count and you get battle news | Google Firebase (Firestore, Authentication, Cloud Messaging) |
| App usage events, such as finishing setup, a pause shown, or a battle started, with plain numbers like your limit | To understand which features help and fix what doesn't | Google Firebase Analytics |
| Crash reports: the error, the app version and the device model | To find and fix crashes | Google Firebase Crashlytics |
Battle accounts are anonymous: there is no email, phone number or password. Your friend sees only the name you type and your count for today. Analytics and crash reports never include what you watched, names or battle codes.
3. What Thumbo never does
- Sell or share your data with advertisers. Thumbo has no ads.
- Read the content of Reels, messages or any text you type.
- Collect your contacts, location, photos or files.
4. Notifications
With your permission, Thumbo sends an evening summary, a Sunday report, a reminder when counting has been turned off, a reminder near your limit (only when the live counter is off), and battle news. You can turn each kind off in Thumbo's settings or Android's.
5. Keeping and deleting your data
- Counts on your phone are deleted when you uninstall Thumbo.
- Leaving a battle deletes your count and push token from it.
- Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months and crash reports for up to 90 days, by Google's settings.
- To have anything else deleted, see Delete your data.
6. Children
Thumbo is meant for people aged 13 and over. It does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
7. Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
